The Site:
Test Valley Borough Council – Picket Twenty MUGA
The Brief:
The Client indicated they wanted the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) to cater for football, basketball and cricket. The size should be 25m x 19m with 2 combination goals, a cricket panel and a chicane entrance. This was to create a sporting area for the community.
Equipment Installed:
• Premiership fencing with 1m side and 2m high ends,
• 1m high Chicane entrance
• 2 x Heavy duty goal units
• Basketball and five-a-side football markings
• 2m Cricket Wall
• Cricket Crease line markings
• Tarmac Surfacing
The Challenges:
The installation of this site provided a few challenges for the team. Working within a community park meant the public had access 24/7. Protective fencing was installed to allow the team to work safely in the designated area, this also helped limited access and protect the public while the works were completed.
We focused on ensuring that the works did not have an adverse effect on the local environment and were completed within the allocated time frame to minimise disruption.
The Outcome:
Supplied via our sister company Safe and Sound, the local community are thrilled with the completed installation of the new MUGA, the ability to play a variety of sports in one space.
The multi use games area is regularly used by sporting groups. The chicane entrance and open ended goals allows access from all users and greats an accessible space to be enjoyed.
