The Site : Summerswood Primary School
The Brief:
The Client were looking to install a multi-use games area within the playing fields. No basketball posts were required only closed goal ends with pedestrian access. A tarmac path was also required to allow access to the site.
Equipment Installed:
-MUGA – 12m x 24m – 2m League Fencing,
-Matchwinner Velour Surfacing – Needle punched multi-sport artificial grass
-Closed goal units,
-Pedestrian access gate,
-Tarmac path
The Challenges:
The installation took place over Easter half term to ensure minimal disruption. The team made sure that the surrounding playing field was kept in good condition where possible during the installation.
The Surface:
Matchwinner Surfacing is suitable for a variety of sports and is back filled with sand to create a great surface finish. Sports markings can be inlaid into the surface ensuring they last as long as the surface itself without the need for re-marking.
Outcome:
The MUGA has proved a great success and children were excited to try out the sports area on their return to school. This has been an integrated into the PE lesson plans and will be well used throughout the year.
